Synoptic is delighted to bring on board this summer two more fantastic deserving charities, LauraLynn and Mental Health Ireland.

Formerly known collectively as Children’s Sunshine Home, LauraLynn is a hospice for children with life-limiting conditions and residential care for children and young adults with disabilities. They employ approximately 140 staff within their teaching, fundraising, and care provision departments. LauraLynn provides a safe and effective service for the children and young people within their care and is guided by HIQA’s key principles of care.

Mental Health Ireland is the longest-established mental health charity in Ireland. Throughout their history, they and the Mental Health Associations have played a central role in reshaping how the public understands mental health issues.

Since its establishment in 1966, they have been front and centre in promoting mental health, supporting people with lived experience of mental health challenges in their recovery, and bringing practical expression to national policy objective.

Rod Walsh - Head of Wholesale & Partner Channel - Synoptic. “We've always taken a keen interest at Synoptic in working with local charities both in an advisory role and supplier of telecoms solutions. Our policy has always been to give independent advice and assistance on present or future projects they have in play, we operate a special reduced pricing structure designed specifically for charities.

Over the summer both LauraLynn and Mental Health Ireland engaged with us with the view to improving their internet infrastructure, their existing connections were no longer fit for purpose and their general day-to-day operations were being impacted. We subsequently installed fibre DIA (Dedicated Internet Access) connections for both charities which has got them ready now for the busy Autumn/Winter months ahead. LauraLynn and Mental Health Ireland have now joined GOAL, Spinal Injuries Ireland, Barretstown, and Children in Hospital as cherished customers and charity partners of Synoptic.

Eoin O'Riain - Operations Manager - LauraLynn. “The time was right this summer to upgrade our internet connectivity, we were in the process of moving over to the Cloud and had deployed an IP Telephony solution, but neither would have operated properly without better quality internet connectivity in place. Our IT Consultants recommended we talk to Synoptic to see what options we might have for a Dedicated Leased Line to our offices, they subsequently were able to install an enterprise-level fibre DIA solution for us, they project managed the full service delivery seamlessly and we're now in a position press on with Cloud and Telephony projects with ease. Synoptic are an extremely competent and knowledgeable operator that I'd highly recommend.”

Maria Walsh-Healy - Operations Manager - Mental Health Ireland. “Our office was struggling with our day-to-day operations due to substandard broadband, important Zoom and MSTeams calls were constantly dropping, the overall general performance was poor which brought various challenges for us daily. After speaking with one of the larger tenants in our building they recommended we speak with Synoptic, they had been with them over 7 years. Due to budget constraints, we thought a fibre leased line would be out of our reach but Synoptic were able to utilise infrastructure they already had in place in the building and installed a high-speed dedicated internet service for us within budget. We are ever grateful to the team at Synoptic, they are a pleasure to deal with.”
